Wildlife officials need your helping finding who is responsible for the poaching of a cow elk and a whitetail doe along the northern border of Washington and Idaho.
Wardens say someone shot and killed both animals the night of April 17, 2020, just west of Blanchard, Idaho, in Washington. The perpetrator(s) initially removed the elk’s hindquarters but later dumped them off Blanchard Cutoff Road, east of Highway 41 in Idaho.
“This is an egregious crime,” said Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife Police Captain Dan Rahn. “Not only was the shooting outside of the hunting season, but the animals were spotlighted, which is illegal, the meat was wasted, and a total of four animals killed.”
