The Great Smoky Mountains National Park needs you. That is, if you enjoy viewing elk and want to help others do the same.
According to The Mountaineer, the park is seeking volunteers to work one late afternoon, four-hour shift per week through the middle of November at either the Oconaluftee Visitor Center or with the Elk Bugle Corp volunteer program in Cataloochee.
A training session is required and will take place on September 6, 2019, in Cherokee, North Carolina. To register for training or for more information, contact Kathleen Stuart at 828-497-1914 or kathleen_stuart@nps.gov.
